Working towards Net Zero: Plant-based Diets
We know that the government has a target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and you can read about how they are planning to achieve this in the Net Zero Strategy:

The IPCC, the Climate Change Committee and the World Wildlife Fund all recommend reducing our intake of meat and dairy to reduce our environmental impact.
In this timely lunch and learn session, coinciding with Veganuary (the annual challenge encouraging people to follow a vegan lifestyle during the month of January), you’ll hear from three of our members – Rae (MOJ), Andy (DWP) and Kevin (HMRC) - from the East, South East and London Environmental Network, who have offered to share their personal experiences of transitioning to a plant-based diet, with all the challenges they faced and any top tips.
All civil servants are welcome to join this fascinating online session. Please note that you must be able to access Microsoft Teams via the app or browser to join this online event. If you are unable to access Microsoft Teams on your work device, you may wish to join using a personal device.
Please discuss attendance at this event with your line manager; this session may count towards your 5 days a year learning and development. Alternatively, you may wish to join in your own time over lunch.
