To contribute to Cadw’s objectives to protect and promote the historic environment of Wales through the conservation and protection of historic buildings and places.
To be senior professional lead for the built historic environment, historic buildings and historic parks and gardens.
To lead a team of specialists responsible for providing advice on casework and grants supporting the protection, conservation and management of historic buildings, parks and gardens.
To assist the Head of Branch and senior Cadw and Welsh Government officials in the formulation and implementation of policy relating to protection, conservation and management of the built historic environment, historic buildings, buildings at risk, parks and gardens, conservation areas, historic characterisation, heritage regeneration, local heritage, conservation skills, climate impact and resilience and historic places of worship.
This role can involve travel throughout Wales to access historic buildings, some of which are in remote locations and inaccessible by public transport. A full driving licence is therefore essential for this post.
