Environment Policy Adviser, Scottish Forestry
Salary: £49,493 - £53,884
Location: Flexible with regular travel to Edinburgh
Job Description: Scottish Forestry (SF) develops and delivers policies to address the Government's priorities and directly advises Scottish Ministers on matters relating to forestry. We manage forestry regulations and grants, support the development of the forestry industry and woodland expansion, as well as seek to enhance for the benefit of all the social, economic and environmental benefits of forestry.
This role sits within the Sustainable Forest Management Team and reports directly to the Head of Sustainable Forest Management, focusing on development of advice on forest policy and practice for the environment related issues, particularly in relation to woodland condition (all woodland types), forest habitats and forest species (including protected species and INNS). You will be the key Scottish Forestry advisor on woodland ecological condition (and the national statistic data) across all woodland types, and contribute to commissioning research and guidance in this area, especially in relation to forest management and adaptation to climate change.
