Corporate Volunteering Opportunity
Role: Volunteer Coordinator – Canal & River Trust (Midlands) 💦
Key responsibilities
Co‑manage and coordinate Civil Service volunteering days with the Canal & River Trust (typically two sessions per month in the Midlands) with one other coordinator.
Support promotion of volunteer opportunities across a wide range of Civil Service departments and across CSCEN, working with departmental volunteering leads.
Help maintain a consolidated list of volunteers per session, including numbers and contact details.
Act as a point of contact for interested volunteers, sharing available dates and responding to queries.
Assist with sending out charity-provided information (fact sheets, timings, locations, joining instructions) ahead of each volunteering session.
Liaise with the Canal & River Trust as required, particularly around attendance numbers and practical arrangements.
Provide cover and continuity when the lead is unavailable, and help broaden access to volunteering opportunities across the wider Civil Service.
Time commitment
Low and flexible: work is mostly ad hoc around incoming volunteer requests and in the run‑up to each volunteering session.
On average around 30 minutes every two weeks, or 10–15 minutes per week.
Some slightly busier periods shortly before the twice‑monthly volunteer days.
