November Volunteering Opportunities 🍂🍁

Find a range of volunteering opportunities you can get involved in throughout November. This includes some of the Climate and Conflict themed opportunities we circulated in our monthly newsletter – for those who might have missed it!


England

Environment Agency - Become a regional flood and coastal committee member to tackle the impacts of flooding.


London

Plan Zheroes - Maximise use of food resources by volunteering with Plan Zheroes to prevent food waste across London.


Northern Ireland

Ballinderry River - Monitor the quality of the water in the Ballinderry River catchment area to help protect the waterway.

Midlands

The Conservation Volunteers - Take part in some midweek volunteering conducting practical conservation work in Leicester city centre.

Canal and River Trust - Spend the 21st November clearing the waterways in Birmingham, with this volunteering day open to all Civil Servants. Email mattie.wormald@dft.gov.uk and gokcen.tayfun@homeoffice.gov.uk to sign up.

 

Scotland

Sea Watch Foundation - Support cetacean conservation and surveying as a regional coordinator.

RSPB - Spend the day planting missing broadleaf trees on RSPB Abernethy.

 

South West and Wales

Canal and River Trust - Spend a few hours improving your local waterway environment.

FareShare - Join the fight against food waste with FareShare.

 

Northern Ireland

Ballinderry River Trust - Become a citizen scientist and help monitor the water quality across the Ballinderry River catchment.

RSPB - Spend a day restoring peatland habitats with RSPB.

 

North East, Yorkshire and Humberside

Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary - Volunteer as part of the transport team for a wildlife sanctuary.

North East Community Forest - Spend the day planting trees in Newcastle with North East Community Forest.

Thames21 - Assess the quality of the water in the Thames, as a river citizen scientist with Thames21.

The Felix Project - Stop food waste by redistributing surplus food with The Felix Project.
