As the legal requirement for Biodiversity Net Gain has reached its first anniversary, attention is turning to the wider social and environmental benefits of the provision of natural habitat in a local area. HM Government’s Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund (NEIRF) for England has included numerous projects involved in supplying Biodiversity Net Gain units, many of which have interests in supporting more strategic place-making and balancing local community needs.
